    • Ms. Mary Matthews graduated from Mt. St. Joseph with a B.A. in Health and Education in 1972. She received her Masters in Administration/Supervision from the University of Toledo in 1985. Ms. Matthews has 29 years of teaching experience. She started teaching at Our Lady of Providence Academy in Newport Kentucky (now Newport Catholic) from 1972 - 1979 for a total of 7 years. She taught two years at Marian High School before the merger, and has been with Purcell Marian High School since the merger in 1981. She has worn many hats here at Purcell Marian. Besides being a teacher and a counselor, she has been the Varsity Softball Coach, Girls Athletic Director, and the Volleyball Coach. Her interests include being a Volleyball official, and playing golf.

    • Bro. Bob Politi, S.M. is a Marianist Brother. He has been on the faculty of Purcell Marian High School since 1964. Bro. Bob was born in the "Little Italy" section of Cleveland, Ohio in 1940 and graduated from Holy Name [HighSchool]Create? (1959). Upon graduation, he entered the Society of Mary (Marianists).
    • He professed his first vows in 1960. Earning a BS in Education at the University of Dayton, he was assigned to teach at Purcell High School in 1964. In 1972 he was awarded a MS in Special Education from the University of Cincinnati. He initiated the first slow learners program in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati as well as the Occupational Work Experience (OWE) program. Over the years, he has been recognzied for his work with the
    • Service Award, the Master Teacher Award, and the Christian Leadership Award.
    • On May 11, 2002 Bro. Bob received the Purcell Marian "Praestans Inter Omnes" ("Outstanding Among All")given the Purcell Marian Alumni Association for his many years of service to Purcell Marian. Bro. Bob is a member of the Special Education Dept. (Student Support Services Team). He was Band Moderator, Band Booster Moderator, Business Manager of the school, financial moderator of Castle Crier, Faculty Welfare Committee, Walk Moderator and other school fund raisers. He is still Locker Supervisor.

    • Mr. David Campbell is a graduate of Purcell Marian High School (c/o '83). He graduated from the University of Dayton ('87) with a B.S. degree in History and Religious Studies. He received his Masters Degree from the University of Dayton ('97) in Theological Studies. Mr. Campbell joined the Purcell Marian faculty in 1988. During his 12 years here at Purcell Marian he has taught religion, coached soccer and basketball, moderated LIFE, Service Club, and the El Salvador Intersession Trip, and was Director of Ministry from 1997 -2002. At present Mr. Campbell is the Dean of Students and is an Assistant Coach with the Boys Basketball Team.

She earned my Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees in Art Education from the College of Mt. St. Joseph on-the-Ohio.

Mrs. Moran currently serve as Chairperson of the Fine Arts Department. In addition, She is a member of the School Council, Public Relations Committee, Faculty Welfare Representative, Education Committee, School Board, and Local Professional Development Committee.

    • Jeanine Flick is originally from Chicago, Illinois. She came to Cincinnati to attend school at the College of Mt. St. Joseph. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from that institution. Jeanine continued her education at Xavier University where she was awarded a Master of Arts and a Master of Education degree. She has taken additional course work from Earlham College, University of Cincinnati, Miami University (Oxford), Ohio State University and Northern Kentucky University.
    • As a teacher at Purcell Marian, she was selected by the faculty to receive the Master Teacher Award. She has repeatedly received the Governor's Award for Excellence in Science Education as well as being recognized by Sigma Xi Research Society, for her Outstanding Science Teaching. She has received commendations from Intel-Science Service for her work as a teacher-mentor for the International Science Fair as well a letter of commendation from the Secretary of Health and Human Services for her selection as the teacher representative from Ohio in the National Institutes of Health Symposium.

All but three of those years have been spent a the Castle. He was stationed at St Josephs in Cleveland from 1965-1967, and Memphis Catholic in Memphis, Tennessee from 1967-1968. He has been a member of Purcell Marian High School since 1968. Mr. Johnson was the first principal of Purcell Marian after the merger in 1980. He is presently the Director of the Alumni and Development Office. His interests include his 4 grandchildren, racquetball and golf. His activities at the Castle include Fund Raising, School Board, De Sales Crossing, and Alumni Home Coming.

He has done Advanced Studies in Fribourg, Switzerland and Grenoble, France for a total of one year. He has also completed additional class work at the University of Cincinnati, and Miami University. Mr. Loos has a total of 38 years in Education. He started at Purcell Marian in 1968. His interests are many: his wife, his kids, his grandson, ushering at Music Hall and home repair. Mr. Loos has been the Dean of Academics, the Director of Recruitment & Publicity, Associate Vice-Principal, Guidance Director, Coordinator of the Drug Prevention Program, Chairman of the English Department, and the school representative of Regina, Marian and Purcell Marin at the time of the merger. Presently, Mr. Loos is a Guidance Counselor, the Co-director of Guidance, and the Co-moderator of the National Honor Society.

  • Coach Terry Meinking Honored
    • After 27 years as the head wrestling coach at Purcell Marian High School, Terry Meinkings list of achievements is both long and distinguished.
      • 11-time GCL-North Coach of the Year
      • 8-time SWOWCA Division II Coach of the Year
      • 5-time Cincinnati Enquirer or Cincinnati Post Division II Coach of the Year
      • 3-time nominee for the State Coach of the Year
    • Under Terrys direction, Purcell Marian wrestlers can boast a 225-75-1 Dual Meet Record. As Purcell Marians most victorious coach, Terry leaves some big shoes to fill. Although he has retired from his days in the wrestling ring, he is still highly revered by coaches across the city.
    • At the 2002 National Catholic Invitational Wrestling Tournament, Mr. Jerry Faust and Mr. Dick Beerman, of Moeller High School, presented Coach Meinking with an award for outstanding career achievement.
    • His dedication to both Purcell Marian High School and the Cavalier wrestling team is evidenced daily through the success of alum and current students alike. Congratulations to Terry on a career of service to the young men and women of Purcell Marian High School.
