PURCELL-MARIAN HIGH SCHOOL - 1929 Grads ReturnCincinnati, Ohio > Purcell Marian High School WikiITS ALL ABOUT TRADITIONAt Purcell Marian, it is not at all uncommon to have alumni stay in touch and be active participants in the Purcell Marian community for many years after they have graduated. However, it is uncommon to have graduates from over seven decades ago return to their Alma Mater and to share with the current student body, faculty and administration what Purcell was like nearly 75 years ago.On Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at 9:30 AM, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Cunningham and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gable took a step back in time onto the Purcell Marian campus where they were honored at a luncheon in the Boardroom. Mr. Cunningham and Mr. Gable graduated from Purcell High School in 1929. Mr. Cunningham served as one of Purcells first quarterbacks on the football team. The return of two of the surviving 3 members of the first graduating class of Purcell High School renews the connection between Cavaliers past and present. Current students guided them on a tour of the new Purcell Marian, Daniel E. Pilarcyk Education Center. Although the buildings and classrooms have changed over the years, the one constant shared by all graduates of Purcell Marian whether from 1929 or 2002, is that incredible Cavalier spirit and pride. Welcome home Carl Cunningham and Carl Gable, Class of 29. From Cincinnati, Ohio
